NEW! SET-UP TIME FOR 'JAMMIN' IT AT THE AG' IS 11 AM. END TIME IS 6 PM. REMEMBER BYOB and other stuff![/

Larry Collins the General Manager of the Carroll County Agricultural Center has offered up the place for a FULL OUT JAM 12:00pm -5:00pm, next Sunday July 18

VOLUNTEER NEEDED TO BRING A PA FINALLY - WE HAVE TO GET THIS ON DISC - WHO HAS A GOOD PORATBLE RECORDING SYSTEM THAT CAN 'CAPTURE THE MAGIC' FOR US? THIS IS IMPORTANT TO ME - SO LET'S FIND SOMETHING ... THANKS.

ELECTRIC PLAYERS and DRUMMERS you will be playing in BURNS HALL (UNLESS IT'S COOLER AND IF THE ARENA IS AVAILABLE). This is definitely the one for you, no volume restrictions at all, it's your chance to really let it rip!!!! WE WILL DO OUR ELECTRIC THING IN STAGED GROUPS W/SOME CAPTAINS AT THE HELM. E-MAIL ME AND LET ME KNOW IF YOU WILL LEAD 4 OR MORE PLAYERS. MAYBE 5 SONGS EACH GROUP - THEN WE'LL JAM WITH THE PEOPLE AND THE TIME THAT'S LEFT ... I HAVE THE TAB AND LYRICS FOR THE FOLLOWING SONGS - THESE ARE JUST SUGGESTIONS SO THAT WE HAVE A SENSE OF INCLUSION WHEN WE GET THERE;
MONA - STONES http://www.youtube.co...
GLORIA - ANIMALS http://www.youtube.co...
JACKSON BROWNE - THE LOADOUT/STAY http://www.youtube.co...
RUMBLE - LINK RAY http://www.youtube.co...
B. SPRINGSTEEN - WAITIN' ON A SUNNY DAY http://www.youtube.co...

... these are just suggestions so that we can kind of be on the same page when we get there - let me know if you need the tab & lyrics -- or go to 911 TABS ( http://www.911tabs.co... )

ACOUSTIC PLAYERS, you will be playing in BLIZZARD HALL (A/C) - a great and indestructible building to jam in.

Or you can float back and forth when your ears start to bleed. biggrin

Dress for the weather!!!

BYOB and munchies or I SUPPOSE IF EVERYONE CAN DROP A BILL INTO THE HAT - WE COULD GET A FEW PIZZAS TO TIDE IS OVER. DOES THAT FLY?

From Larry:

BACKGROUND --

I run the Carroll County Ag Center & Arena -- have 9 buildings from 2,400 sq. ft to 60,000 sg. ft. Electrics will be in Burns Hall - and we'll have a kickass sound system there courtesy of my bf Bob Coffey (Coffey Music, Westminster) and perhaps selected tidbits on 'special'. We have no volume restrictions here. So, all electric players and drummers are welcome. I see this more as a 2, 3 or 4 or more person jam at a time - rather than a polished personal performance. This is the place to roll-up to '10'. I also expect at least one terrific drummer - in addition to Shannon - to also be there. Singers, also.

For acoustics, you'll be in Blizzard Hall (A/C) - if it's nice - there are lots of outdoor options as well.

WHAT? It was fun, hot and loud. Real freakin' loud. I agree with Brian, next electric jam (A.D.D. Convention) we need some structure, song list, a P.A. (Gee...thanks Coffey Music....FAIL). But all in all I still had a blast and that my friends is what BGG is all about. Thanks to everyone involved (hosts and attendees).

I love the tags on the pictures, makes it easy to remember names, I definitely have problem with names. Hot, Very Hot, Toasted, Cooked, Well-done, sorry just thinking out loud. Had a great time, but it will take me a week to recover my precious body fluids (Doctor Strange-love). Thanks to everyone especially the Host. What a nice location. Hope we can do it again, on a cooler day. Oh yeah, it's Bob Bailey, not John, though if you put (14 verse 6) after it, we could have flipped him out.

2 Jams at the same time, 1 Electric, 1 Acoustic/Electric. From the acoustic building we could hear the electric guys loud and clear from the Aircraft Hanger size building they were playing in. Although I didn't actually see any ones ears bleeding when they returned to the Acoustic building they all said "HUH?" a lot!!!!

I just now got on my Mail and I appreciate the support (Mike), in my endeavor to prove I am the biggest noise maker. I may not be able to play the stuff I plan to try to put together. But try I will. Hope I work out a good mix because my car has limited space. And I have so many toys to chose from!

    Q. Can electronic drums be run through the PA? (Shannon's
question) or Do you know if someone is bringing an acoustic set?
    A. Yes - at least one and perhaps two full drum kits with players will be there. As far as electronic drums through a PA - that's a Bob C. question if he lends us an amp & speakers.
    Q. Should we bring chairs? A. Got 1,000 of 'em.

    Q. Is the sound system good to go or are we still looking for a
PA? It appears that you've already taken care of it. One of
the guys just called and volunteered to bring one if we still
need it, I just want to let him know.
    A. If Bob Coffey (Coffey Music) lends us a PA - it'll be a big one. I think it's a done deal. I've asked for 2 - an electric and an acoustic set-up. (It'll be our responsibility for mikes - stands and cable.) In any case - you might line up one just in case.

Too HOT! Hard to find exact location....Left early.... No AC! However, the music (what little we heard) was good. Some even GREAT.... I LOVE that Mike Nelson guy! LOL
    •  The jam overall was fun, if a bit disorganized.... Next time a circle layout for the electric side would probably be better, and maybe a list of 10 songs ahead of time for everyone to learn
    • Dennis Thorne (+4 guests)
Great time! Sorry I had to leave early. Many thanks to Larry - you da man!!! Also, I would agree with the other comments concerning structure. A PA would have helped. But anytime you can get together with other players and let it rip..... priceless.

Great spaces, Great people, Great music, but man, was it HOT!!! Must have sweated out 8 gallons.
